  • INEOS Styrolution Canada Ltd., provides donation to fund the construction of innovative, mental health and wellness facility for community youth

  • INEOS Styrolution Canada donated $16,000 in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent’s, new ACCESS Open Minds, Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario site, scheduled to open in Sarnia-Lambton in the fall of 2022.

The new ACCESS Open Minds, Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario in Sarnia-Lambton aims to transform mental health and addictions care for youth ages 11-25 and their families. The facility will be an environment where young people feel comfortable reaching out for mental health and addictions support. “In this environment, they will have access to mental health and addictions education, assessments, counselling and treatment, all in one location,” says, Andria Appeldoorn, director of fund development and communications at CMHA Lambton Kent.

Located in Sarnia, Ontario, and currently under construction, the funds announced today will be allocated towards the remaining building needs of the site. This donation is a reflection of the importance the company places on the well-being of their community members and is in-step with INEOS Styrolution Canada’s history of supporting mental health and wellness programs within their community.

“We are fortunate to have the support of INEOS Styrolution Canada Ltd.,” remarked Andria Appeldoorn, director of fund development and communications at CMHA Lambton Kent, “as a community partner, INEOS Styrolution was one of the first organizations to reach out with an offer of financial support during the early days of the pandemic. This most recent donation towards youth mental health is greatly appreciated and is consistent with their ongoing support.”

“We understand the challenges youth are faced with in accessing more traditional mental health services in our community,” says INEOS Styrolution Canada, Sarnia site director, Brian Lucas. “ACCESS Open Minds is such an innovative model allowing youth to access the programs and services they need in an environment in which they feel safe, comfortable, and supported. We are delighted to play a role in addressing this critical need in the Sarnia-Lambton area.”
