Electrolyser Project Requests - Support

New industrial scale electrolysis projects, for the production of clean hydrogen, chlorine and caustic soda, are complex in design and specification.

INEOS are here to help

If you have an electrolysis project that INEOS can support you with, here are a few guideline data points that we normally look for to allow us to make an assessment and provide feedback quickly.

  1. The name of your company and the name of the end user of the technology (if different)
  2. What is your desired capacity of the electrolysis plant? Typically this is measured in MW capcity of hydrogen or tonnes per year of chlorine or caustic soda.
  3. What is the intended use of the hydrogen, chlorine and caustic? On a chlor-alkali plant, this is important as typically you must have uses for both chlorine and caustic products. What end products need to be accounted for in the design of plant?
  4. What stage of the project are you at? Feasibility? Study? Actualisation?
  5. Do you have a engineering contractor selected to do the basic or detailed engineering of the whole plant? If so who is it?
  6. What is the execution strategy for the project? (Describe the split of work)
  7. Do you have a reliable source of electrical power, salt and water for an industrial electrolysis plant?
  8. Do you have the appropriate environmental / Governmental clearance for the project?
