INEOS Aromatics Indonesia has taken COVID vaccination levels to above 95% in its Merak plant through two vaccination events, helping to protect employees from the harmful effects of COVID and ensuring the business can support the recovery of the Indonesian economy.

The business held vaccination days in early August and early September for employees, family members and contractors. They were hosted in partnership with the Cilegon Police, who are leading part of the national effort on behalf of the Indonesian government.

As a result, 243 individuals attended the events and received vaccinations.

"Most importantly, we want to prevent our employees from being among the millions of people who have lost their lives to this terrible disease,” said Pak Budi Prihartono, Plant Manager. “As the Indonesian textile industry recovers, it also ensures we are ready to support that process as an important supplier.”

“As a responsible employer, we want to protect the people working for us as well as the business. As a company, we are doing our part to back the national vaccination efforts,” added Frank Yang, President Director.

Cilegon is a major coastal industrial city in Indonesia that includes the port of Merak, where the plant is located. The plant produces PTA, which is used by the polyester industry to produce PET bottles, textiles, film and other product applications.
