East Cooper Habitat for Humanity in South Carolina received £25,000 ($32,000) from the INEOS Community Fund in 2023 to assist their vital work, one of several £25,000 allotments made by the INEOS Community Fund to commemorate the 25th anniversary of INEOS.

The charity was nominated by members of the INEOS Aromatics team in Charleston, South Carolina. It constructs safe and reliable homes in partnership with families in the community who are unable to qualify for a conventional mortgage, providing a ‘hand up,’ not a ‘hand out,’ to the families.

In addition to the donation, members of INEOS contributed their time too. Over 50 volunteers built 30 walls for a 1,200 square feet house for a local family and 10 wooden duck boxes to support the local ecology in just over 2 hours.

The INEOS Community Fund supports local communities and causes around the company’s sites, as well as exceptional individuals and broader areas aligned with INEOS’ business and sports teams.

Kevin Brokes, Executive Director of East Cooper Habitat, said: “We couldn’t be happier to partner with INEOS as a major sponsor of our next community in McClellanville. Having a mission-driven partner who understands the value of giving back to the community where they work and live allows us to further our goals to provide safe and affordable housing to families in our community who need it the most.”
