  • INEOS, one of the world’s largest chemical companies, has today announced that it is now growing so fast in the UK that it is setting up a new UK office in London, SW1 which will house over 100 people.
  • The building will provide a home for all of the INEOS UK businesses including its Grangemouth business, its oil and gas ventures, its shipping business, its trading business and its new INOVYN joint venture.
  • Rolle in Switzerland will remain the headquarters for a number of well-established INEOS businesses and INEOS will formally refer to itself as an Anglo / Swiss company.
  • Jim Ratcliffe, INEOS chairman and founder says, “It makes perfect sense for INEOS to set up its new UK office in London. We are growing fast in the UK and London is a great location for our UK base. The turnover of our total businesses now exceeds £35 billion and we have over 10,000 British employees and contractors”.

INEOS has today announced that it is moving into a new corporate headquarters building in London, SW1 which will eventually house over 100 people.

The building will provide a home for a number of INEOS UK legal entities and functions as well as its trading floor and its growing Shale business (already the UK’s third largest owner of Shale gas reserves).

The building will also to be home to the INOVYN joint venture. This business controls fourteen manufacturing sites across Europe including the massive Runcorn facility in Cheshire and has a turnover of over £3 billion.

Jim Ratcliffe, INEOS chairman and founder says, “It makes perfect sense for INEOS to set up its new UK office in London. We are expanding fast in the UK and London is a great location for our UK base. The turnover of our total businesses now exceeds £35 billion and we have over 10,000 British employees and contractors”.

INEOS left the UK in 2009 at the height of the recession. The company relocated to Switzerland when it became clear that this was the only way to ensure its survival. Six years later and it has fully recovered and is performing well. The Sunday Times has just announced that INEOS is once again Britain’s biggest private company and one of the world’s largest chemicals company.

Because of its international structure, INEOS will formally describe itself as an Anglo / Swiss company and keep its group headquarters in Switzerland.

Jim Ratcliffe adds, “INEOS has business interests across the world but the UK has always been central to our thinking and we are pleased with our new London base. We are investing over £450 million in Grangemouth, we are determined to lead the UK shale gas revolution and we are actively looking at opportunities in the North Sea”.
