NEOVYN™ enables PVC customers to produce low carbon products and support Europe’s green transition

  • NEOVYNTM is a new PVC range offering a significantly reduced carbon footprint that is 37% lower than the European industry average for suspension PVC.
  • Combining access to renewable energy sources, low carbon hydrogen and developments in electrification technology – it will become INEOS Inovyn’s new low carbon standard, helping our customers to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions and market lower carbon applications.
  • Freefoam Building Products, a global leading manufacturer of innovative PVC-UE fascia and cladding products becomes the first customer to benefit from NEOVYNTM.
  • Aidan Harte, Freefoam CEO said, “We are convinced of the need to find solutions to meet the broad-based appetite for low carbon building products. Freefoam are delighted to be frontrunners in the use of NEOVYNTM in the launch with our customer of a low carbon sustainable cladding range”.

NEOVYNTM offers a significantly reduced carbon footprint that is 37% lower than the European industry average for suspension PVC, reduced to 1.3 kg CO2 per kg PVC. Customers using this will be able to lower their scope 3 emissions and develop sustainable downstream products.

The first delivery of NEOVYNTM was made to Freefoam to meet the growing demand for lower carbon products from their own customers, and will be used in Freefoam’s new sustainable PVC-UE cladding. PVC-UE benefits from an average lifespan of 35 years and can be recycled up to 10 times without loss of quality or performance - making this material ideally suited to promote sustainability in building and construction.

Wouter Bleukx, INEOS Inovyn Business Manager commented, “NEOVYNTM demonstrates our commitment to providing industry leadership towards the reduction of CO2 in PVC. It helps our customers to reduce their own scope 3 emissions and enables them to market lower carbon applications.”

“INEOS Inovyn and Freefoam Building Products share a commitment to providing market leading innovative solutions that prioritise sustainability.”

NEOVYNTM will be progressively available from different INEOS Inovyn production sites using access to  renewable energy sources, which includes local hydroelectric power from Norway, electricity from North Sea wind turbines in Antwerp and our solar energy in Jemeppe, combined with the use of low carbon hydrogen and the developments in electrification technology.

With these steps INEOS Inovyn continues providing industry leadership, putting in place long-term structural solutions to drive a sustainable step change in the carbon footprint abatement of the PVC value chain – to meet the 2030 green-house gas reduction targets.

The new range is certified under the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification(*)) PLUS scheme.
