Modern Apprentices commence their careers at INEOS Grangemouth

At the end of August, our new intake of seven O&P UK Modern Apprentices joined the highly-regarded scheme at INEOS, Grangemouth. Ahead of them is a first class training programme that will see the successful candidates complete their studies with an SVQ qualification and a HNC in partnership with Forth Valley College. In the same week that the INEOS O&P UK Modern Apprentices began their respective courses, nine apprentices have started their careers with the Petroineos Refinery. Along the way they too will combine academic studies at Forth Valley College with practical experience in the unique environment that is Scotland’s only crude oil refinery.

Alex Burnett, former pupil at local school, St Mungo’s High said, “I am looking forward to being in the workplace and learning how to operate the plants. INEOS is huge and there are so many things to learn.”  Petroineos Modern Apprentice, Andrew Wilson, explained that he was looking forward to acquiring new skills and then using those skills on the plant. “I would recommend other people to choose an apprenticeship route to employment,” says Andrew, “because you earn as you learn.”

The search for the next year’s Modern Apprentices will commence in December. Look out for more information on our careers website (www.ineosopportunities.co.uk) or via our Twitter / Facebook accounts.
