INEOS Fluor focuses on refrigerants at IKK

INEOS Fluor will be highlighting its industry expertise and broad range of refrigerants at this year’s IKK (stand 309 Hall 5) in partnership with its German distributor, Westfalen AG.

The company, which manufactures HFCs in the UK, US and Japan, will be showcasing its commitment to customer service, choice and range of refrigerants. It will also be updating customers on its investment in an R-125 manufacturing facility at Runcorn, UK, for which construction work has already begun.

Tony Kaye, INEOS Fluor’s European Commercial Director said: “INEOS Fluor is at a very exciting phase. We have invested in the R-125 facility and construction work on this is well under way. We are in a very strong market position and this investment helps to underpin this.

“Having such a long and unrivalled heritage in developing, manufacturing and supplying refrigerants we are able to offer first rate customer service and technical advice, which goes hand in hand with our extensive product portfolio.

“IKK is always an excellent opportunity to cement existing customer relationships and build new ones and we are looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces on the stand.

Teams from INEOS Fluor and Westfalen AG will be present in Hall 5 on stand 309, to provide information on the range of refrigerants available and offer advice, guidance and information on industry issues.
INEOS Fluor has production facilities in the USA, UK and Japan and a global network of distributors and agents.

Note to editors:

  1. HFC 125 is typically used in blended refrigerants such as: R-407C (HFC134a, HFC 125 & HFC 32) and R-410A (HFC 125 & HFC 32). R-410A is used in an increasing number of new air-conditioning systems to replace HCFC 22. It is more efficient than both R-22 and hydrocarbons and is considered to be the best environmental solution in these applications.
  2. The world’s first HFC 134a plant was brought on line, in record time at INEOS Fluor’s Runcorn site, in October 1990. In February 2001 the company converted this plant to manufacture both KLEA 134a (HFC 134a) and KLEA 125 (HFC125). This plant will now be converted to sole manufacture of 125 providing refrigerant in 2006.
  3. Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants have enabled companies around the world to replace chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) & hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). HFCs are the most rigorously tested chemicals ever; they are non-flammable, recyclable, easy to handle and highly energy efficient, which is why industry regards them as the products of choice in a range of applications.
  4. HFCs are widely used in refrigeration and air-conditioning applications and underpin the most cost effective, energy efficient technology. Their use spans automotive and office air-conditioning, domestic and supermarket refrigeration, transport and chiller systems.
