  • Team will explain to delegates why Shale gas is safe and highlight the huge benefits it could bring to Scotland.
  • INEOS Shale, Operations Director, Tom Pickering says: “We are delighted to be hosting a stand at the SNP conference. It will give us a chance to talk directly to the membership of the SNP who will be attending from all parts of Scotland. We believe that Shale gas can be produced safely and could create thousands of jobs and bring substantial economic benefits to the nation.”

INEOS Shale today confirmed it will be hosting a stand at the Scottish National Party conference in Aberdeen which starts tomorrow.

The company has decided to attend the conference as part of its ongoing Shale gas information programme, which started earlier this year and has already reached thousands of Scots across the country via public meetings, speaking engagements and information mailshots.

INEOS Shale, Operations Director, Tom Pickering says: “We are delighted to be attending conference.  It will give us a chance to speak directly to the membership of the SNP who will be attending from all parts of Scotland.  We believe that Shale gas can be produced safely and could create thousands of jobs and bring substantial economic benefits to the nation.”

INEOS is aware that many people at the conference have genuine fears over shale gas production and this is an opportunity to try and allay those fears.  The INEOS team at the conference will use the opportunity to highlight directly to SNP members that Shale extrication can be done safely if best practice is followed.

INEOS Shale, Operations Director, Tom Pickering says: “At the public meetings I have attended people come to me and highlight safety concerns they have read about on the internet.  Sadly there has been much misinformation put out about shale gas.  So much so that those same people are then surprised when I tell them the Scottish Government’s own expert panel has already concluded that shale production is safe if best practice is followed.”

The INEOS team at located at stand Stand 73, which we be manned for the entire length of the conference.  Everyone is welcome to attend ask any questions they have.
