Alphamethylstyrene
Alphamethylstyrene (AMS) is formed as an intermediate product during Phenol and Acetone production.
Currently, Alphamethylstyrene (AMS) is isolated and purified solely in our Gladbeck facility.
Physical Properties:
AMS is a combustible liquid with a boiling point of 165° C (329°F), similar in its chemical nature to cumene or gasoline.
AMS is used as a modifier in the manufacture of heat resistant ABS resins with applications in the automotive and electrical industries for water heaters and household equipment.
The purity of our AMS is in excess of 99.6%.
Annual Capacity:
- Europe: 50 kt AMS
Formula:
- C6H5-C(CH3)=CH2
Main Derivatives:
