INEOS chlor celebrates awards Hatrick
Staff at chemical manufacturer INEOS Chlor are celebrating this week after picking up another major industry accolade, the third in a year. The Company has won the prestigious Manufacturing Improvement Award presented by the Chemical Industries Association. This follows on from the recent successes of winning the Inward Investment Award from the Mersey Partnership and the Supplier of the Year 2005 from the British Chemical Distributors and Traders Association.
To win the Manufacturing Improvement Award, INEOS Chlor impressed industry judges with how it has worked to secure its long-term future by improving productivity and profitability, achieving strict safety targets, attracting new customers and modernising its plants at Runcorn Site.
INEOS Chlor was voted the clear winner "for the sheer magnitude and scale of the improvements" according to judge Roger Benson. The Company was presented with its award by news presenter Peter Sissons at a gala ceremony in Manchester.
Comments Tony Traynor, INEOS Chlor Operations Director: “We are delighted to have won this award, which reflects the shear hard work of everyone who works at Runcorn Site. We have made fantastic progress in securing our business for the long term, and I am sure that our staff will deliver even better performance over the coming years."
INEOS Chlor was also short listed for two other awards and was highly commended by judges for its work on safety, health and the environment and for its work in the local community with sister companies INEOS Fluor and INEOS Vinyls.
